Normally you can not add one SharePoint group to another and you can not add give permission to item to SharePoint group from another SharePoint site.
After installing Shetab Windows Live Authentication for SharePoint, SharePoint group of profile site will act like security group and you can add them to any other group or assign access to that group any site or subsite.
